You might already know me as before I decided to launch Reveries, Brambles & Scribbles, I was the recipe developer, photographer and writer behind Rosa’s Yummy Yums (from 2005 to 2015 - if you don’t already know RYY, I invite you to have a look at it as it is chock-a-block full with cool recipes, pictures and articles). After 10 years of blogging under that brand, I have decided to start afresh, take a new direction and create a site which would reflect more my present personality and the individual that I have become. It surely wasn’t an easy decision to take, but I had no other choice. I needed a breath of fresh air.
If you do not change direction, you may end up where you are heading.

After all, life is made of changes. It is something positive, inevitable, primordial and constant. It infuses our existence with vivid colours and gives us perspective as well as hope. Transition is life and life is all about transition…
So let me introduce myself.
I am a dynamic, nature-loving epicurian, health-conscious, anti-consumerist, eco-friendly food-enthusiast and spiritual thirty-something, Anglo-Swiss young woman who is very lucky to live in a quaint Geneva countryside village (a constant source of joy and artistic stimulation) situated in the French speaking part of Switzerland, a few meters away from the border and who adores delving into the realms of writing, the culinary spheres and the world of photography with a load of passion and a good dose of Rock'n'Roll attitude as well as non-conformism.
Many things capture my attention and make my heart skip a beat. Among them you’ll find non-mainstream loud Rock/Heavy Metal, Electronic Music and Hip Hop, Indie and Scandinavian movies, quality series, gripping art, traditional and black tattoos (so far, I have two myself), all things dark and mysterious, Nordic countries (Norway, Finland, Iceland, Faroe Islands, etc…), Great Britain, Canada, USA, Vikings, Native American culture and people, walks in the countryside and mountains, stimulating books, animals (cats, corvids/birds, farm animals, hedgehogs and foxes especially) and meeting interesting folks.
I am also extremely passionate about food and I can spend hours surfing the net for inspiration, reading blogs, creating dishes, testing new recipes, shooting images or going through cookbooks and magazines.
Flavourful and soul-uplifting grubs, spices and yummy textures drive me crazy, and I’m particularly fond of British, American, Asian, Mediterranean, North African, South American, Middle Eastern delights as well as regional and traditional Swiss specialties.
Earth... How many of us understand this silent glebe that we tread upon all our life? Yet, it is her who nourishes us, her to whom we owe our survival.

Furthermore, I only believe in preparing wholesome fares with first-rate, local, organic and seasonal produce and hate anything industrially produced/processed or waste; in my opinion, throwing away perfectly edible goods, buying convenience or junk food is a total heresy and a blasphemy! Thus, I am strongly convinced that the best tasting dishes are homemade, prepared in a "green" manner, with love and much caring, because those are the meals which we will remember our whole life long.
One must respect Mother Nature, food, his/her body (it is our temple, after all) and the others in order to cook in a harmonious way.
I appreciate simplicity, true beauty that lasts over time, and a little wit and eclecticism that make life more fun.

As you can see, I have many hobbies and interests. My tastes are eclectic and multiple, so Reveries, Brambles & Scribbles will echo whatever goes through my head, engages my senses and intellect or gets snapped through my lenses. Be it breathtaking landscapes or ravishingly beautiful flowers I have seen, a tasty recipe I feel compelled to share with you or thoughts I want to exteriorise…
I hope you’ll have a swell time discovering my little universe and thanks for stopping by!
